This site was started to tell a story the story of Joe Stimola, his life, and the people he touched. It was his wish to write a book and tell his story and his family’s story of Racing. Unfortunately, he did not get a chance to compile his notes nor write his book, as he passed away Saturday, February 13th 2010.

We ask the racing community and extended family to help us write the book for Joe and his family. Please fill in a chapter of your story, or upload your chapter, or chapters of his life: how you met Joe Stimola and the influence, or the track side story you had. This book is not just for racing related stories, as most of us know he touched people both on and off the track.

This is a huge undertaking that we would like to accomplish for Joe in honor of a family that gave so much to racing. There is no limit to your chapter or chapters, please do not hold back any information or language that was used at the time of the story.

Please try to put some date and location with the chapter; if there was a car involved yours or otherwise please make sure the year, make and class are there. Your contact information is required and confidential, as the family may wish to contact you personally to share their stories as well.

From Willam Wonder and the privateer efforts at Daytona, Roger Penske and a finely polished RSK, Bobby Rahal sleeping under a table, Chip Ganasi dressed as Joe Stimola, to Guy Cosmo packing his briefcase with Onion Rings, to the first night on the dyno with Angelo Zarra, the countless golf carts missing, a stuffed chicken stolen……

As you can imagine we want every story you have to create a chapter. None too long, none too short, along with any photos you can provide.

Thank You
